LIVE REVIEWS

FEB 2007

Onto a question that continuously eludes me: why is it that Headshot, one of Brevards¹s more original and vitriolic acts, constantly seem to slip under the radar of so many, despite their obvious talent? Here¹s a band whose guitarist and lead-singer play live with enough raw energy and passion to convert the first-time listener, but yet the attention span of the crowd wavered somewhere between enthusiasm and an annoying impatience for a more
formulaic-metal delivery. Wake up people, these guys are playing some powerful music. Tracks such as "Rooms within Rooms", "Undergod" and in particular "Burning Flag" all from their EP "Rooms within Rooms", clearly demonstrated their mastery of a fundamental principle of heavy music: substance delivered with passion and originality, the strong political over-tones of their songs being the distinctive mark of the band¹s sound.

This is quality stuff, and their consistently stunning live performances will see them, hopefully, break onto the next level where they belong. Their set, as always, was definitely a highlight of the evening.
